Dạ em làm sai câu này ...và sau một thời gian ngâm cứu thì em thấy câu của em là câu B có vấn đề thật nhưng cho em hỏi ở đây "twice" có vai trò như thế nào ah???

bác hqta post OA sớm thế làm em chưa kịp làm gì cả :-( em chọn D câu này được không ạ? B, C, E thì rõ ràng là sai ngữ pháp. A thì không hẳn là sai nhưng mà trúc trắc + given a choice I'd leave out " being." "being emitted annually" is okay but not correct when judged under the strictest grammatical conditions, imo. D is finely fit however one looks at it.

A. đã có that rồi lại có which khỏi cần nói.
B. as much annually as: xét về nghĩa người ta so sánh amount of pullutant chứ không phải annually, xét về cấu trúc: thì total amount of pollutant emitted annually by ..... is twice ......emitted annually by.... parallelisn hơn.
C. As much compared ...--> unidiomatic
D. amount of pollutant emitted by..... is twice that emitted annually by .. ->parallelism : twice ở đây là adv
E. that emitted annually compared to --> cấu trúc khó hiểu.

Câu này cũng giống câu này trong OG:

bác Cường ơi, essentially thì câu A và câu D gần giống như nhau. Câu D "twice that emitted annually by..." chẳng qua là viết ngắn của "twice that which is emitted annually by..." ở đây that và which đi cạnh nhau không có gì là sai cả.
Câu B thì sai về ngữ pháp bởi vì twice as much as ARE emitted annually by... chứ không phải là is. subject của 2nd clause of the sentence here are the cars (plural) not the amount of pollution (singular) anymore.

twice as much as là standard form. twice as much compared to is normally used interchangeably with twice as much as in today's written materials nhưng under the strictest regulations as imposed by the GMAT thì the latter is grammatically wrong.

hihi, congratulation bác Cường và chúc bác thành công với real test 37/37 và 41/41:D, tuy nhiên Bác Cường trích cái câu từ OG em không thấy được logic về tư duy giống nhau ở đâu???

@Huyền: Anh lúc nào cũng chỉ ước được điểm gần như em thôi, được thế thì mãn nguyện lắm rồi chả cần gì hơn.
Câu trong OG kia anh đưa ra để mọi người practise thêm về cách dùng từ twice thôi.
