Thứ 1 là vì thích curriculum EMBA của Duke. EMBA của trường D rất one-of-a-kind.

Thứ 2 là vì chương trình EMBA thích hợp hơn với personal situation. MBA đa phần là career changer mà. Học 2 năm cộng thêm internship để network. But I'm doing the same thing nên nghỉ làm 2 năm học mba xong chạy vô industry lại nó tạo ra 2 năm break hại nhiều hơn lợi. Bản thân mình đã có network trong industry của mình rồi nên in essence, mình học mba để move up thôi within the industry thôi nên vừa học vừa làm nó benefit nhiều hơn.

Mình lần trước tự ôn GMAT, thấy bắt đầu bằng quyển Mc Graw- Hill's GMAT khá hay vì quyển này giới thiệu kỹ về phần lý thuyết thế nhưng bài tập khá dễ, phù hợp cho các bạn mới bắt đầu , sau khi luyện xong bạn có thể dùng quyển Official Guide để có thêm nhiều bài tập hơn.

Lời khuyên chân thành, bạn nên dành mỗi ngày khoảng 90 phút, để làm bài tập, tiếc là mình đã không có nhiều thời gian hơn như thế. Mà cố gắng chuyên tâm nhé, đừng như mình, level game online còn lên nhanh gấp mấy lần GMAT.

Chào cả nhà,

Em là thành viên mới toanh, cũng đang có ý định đăng ký học MBA. Em đã đọc qua một số topic trên diễn đàn rồi. Cơ mà trường hợp của em nó lại hơi khác một tý. Thế nên mạo muội hỏi các bậc tiền bối xem có biết thì chỉ giáo giùm em. Em dự định sẽ apply vào University of Washington năm tới. Em hiện đang làm việc tại Cơ quan hợp tác Quốc tế Nhật Bản được 1 năm rồi. Ông xã em là người Mỹ,theo ổng về bên đó ít nhất là 2 năm nên em muốn tranh thủ học thêm. U of Washington đòi Graduate Record Exam (GRE) score, em thật không biết phải chuẩn bị những gì. Phiền các huynh muội biết thì chỉ giùm em với.

This step describes the Requirements you must meet in order to be considered for admission to the Foster MBA Program. When you do submit an application, all aspects of that application, including the fulfillment of these requirements, are subject to verification.

Degree Requirements
Foster MBA applicants must have completed the equivalent of a four-year U.S. bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Applicants are not required to complete academic courses in any particular topics to be eligible for admission. An academic or employment background specifically in business is not required. Applicants are expected to demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, capable computer skills — particularly with word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software comparable to Microsoft Office — and solid skills in quantitative analysis. Prior scholastic performance should indicate an ability to complete graduate level work.

Quantitative Proficiency Requirement
Foster MBA applicants must meet a quantitative analysis requirement. Each applicant must demonstrate the ability to work effectively with numbers and be able to perform complex quantitative analysis. College transcripts showing courses in advanced mathematics or courses in disciplines such as science, engineering and computer science that require similar quantitative skills may demonstrate this ability. It may also be demonstrated through a combination of a strong GMAT quantitative score, prior course work, and current employment responsibilities that, taken together, indicate to the admissions committee that the applicant has demonstrated college level skills in quantitative analysis. In some cases, if the admissions committee wishes to admit an applicant, but believes that the applicant may lack sufficient quantitative skills, the applicant may be conditionally admitted with a requirement that he or she complete a specified amount of pre-MBA course work in mathematics or quantitative methods prior to starting the program.

English Language Proficiency Requirement
Foster MBA applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to understand, read, write, and speak English proficiently enough to ably contribute to classroom discussions, interact effectively with classmates from diverse backgrounds, and communicate effectively in written examinations, group projects, and oral presentations. In some cases, if the admissions committee wishes to admit an applicant, but believes the applicant may lack sufficient English language skills, the applicant may be conditionally admitted with a requirement that he or she complete a specified amount of pre-MBA course work to enhance English language ability prior to starting the program.

GMAT Requirement for all applicants
All MBA applicants are required to take the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT). All sub-scores and the AWA score are evaluated. Scores should indicate a strong aptitude for business studies. Scores are valid for five years. If an applicant has taken the GMAT more than once, the highest score will be considered. TOEFL Requirement
International and permanent resident applicants who do not hold a degree from a U.S. or English-speaking institution in accepted countries (Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, or the United Kingdom) are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

TOEFL scores are valid for two years. Applicants who score below 600 (250 on the computer-based test; 100 on the Internet-based test) should retake the test before submitting an application. For more information, call 800-468-6335 or visit the TOEFL Web site.

Concurrent Degree Requirements
Concurrent degree applicants must apply to each school, college, or department of interest. Additional admissions test may be required. Application materials should be submitted separately to both programs, as the individual programs make independent admissions decisions. Applicants must be offered admission to both schools to be admitted to the combined program.

Transfer Requirements
Transfer Applicants must complete the full application process to be considered for admission and have completed the equivalent of the first year MBA core courses. If only a portion of the first year core coursework has been completed, an applicant will be considered for admission, but will be required to start the Foster MBA Program as a new student.
